IT specialist and skilled IT worker

IT specialists and skilled IT workers are professionals specialising in IT systems or software. They work in companies and institutions and help ensure that the computers, networks and other devices, as well as their software, are in perfect working order.

Do you work in the IT sector and have already gained at least 2 years of professional experience? Then you are an IT specialist. Even without a professional qualification or a degree in IT, IT specialists are able to come to Germany and work. However you must provide proof of your professional experience.

Getting your IT profession recognised

Have you completed vocational education and training in the field of IT? Then you are a skilled IT worker. You may be able to get your training as a skilled IT worker recognised. There are advantages to doing this. In Germany, your training is recognised as equivalent. You have improved opportunities in the job market. Employers then know that you have the same skills and knowledge as a skilled IT worker who has completed training or a degree in Germany. It is therefore easier for employers to understand your qualification.
