Recognition of qualifications from India

Together with the BQ-Portal and the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB), the training team of “Anerkennung in Deutschland” has continued the series of country-specific online seminars. This time, the program included professional and university degrees from India.

The event on India on January 31 attracted a great deal of interest: with 128 registrations, it is currently at the top of the list of country-specific training courses. The seminar was aimed at counsellors and volunteers, as well as employers who are in contact with Indian skilled workers or would like to recruit them.

The seminar provided valuable information on the recognition procedure and presented useful tools for gathering information. Particular attention was paid to the updated platform of the anabin database.

Participants gained a thorough insight into the legal and administrative requirements for recognition and were able to ask specific questions about selected qualifications. For example, whether a Bachelor of Vocation is equivalent to a German vocational school leaving certificate. Or what to do if a university is not listed in anabin.

In addition, the participants exchanged practical tips that can be used to provide targeted and effective support to Indian skilled workers on their way to professional recognition in Germany. Overall, the event was characterised by a high level of participation and lively discussions. It made an important contribution to greater transparency and efficiency in the recognition of Indian qualifications.

The seminars on higher education and vocational qualifications in individual federal states offer participants a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and clarifying open questions regarding recognition. They are designed to help strengthen the advisory skills of the participants and further improve their support work.
