In Germany you can complete training as an electronics technician in the trades and crafts sector or in the industrial and commercial sector. This means: There are professions regulated by the Chamber of Crafts and Trades (HWK) and professions regulated by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). It is important to know about the different possibilities. The competent authority responsible for the recognition may differ depending on the sector.

Recognition of Master Craftsman qualification?
Do you wish to become self-employed in this occupation in Germany? Registration with the Register of Crafts and Trades (the so-called Handwerksrolle) is mandatory if you wish to become self-employed in this occupation. For this, your professional qualification usually must be recognised as being equivalent to the corresponding German master craftsman qualification.
